Ehsan Sharafian Ardakani is a PhD candidate at the University of Stuttgart. He started his PhD in January 2015 and he is working on control of swarm robots at the Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics.
Ehsan received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the K.N.Toosi University of Technology in January 2011. He also was a member of a research team that was working on the combustion simulation of water tube boiler of Tehran Power Plant and they designed a software for simulation of a boiler.
In September 2011, he entered the Faculty of New Sciences and Technologies of University of Tehran in order to continue his studies as a M.Sc. student of Mechatronics Engineering. His main research in his M.Sc. studies was focused on Swarm Robots. Ehsan was also working as a leader of a research teams at the Human-Robot Interaction Laboratory (TaarLab) on mobile robots.
His M.Sc. project was focused on the swarm robots navigation. The main goals of his project were swarm robot path planning and swarm formation due to an object displacement in unknown environments with static and dynamic obstacles. Also, he worked on a combination of potential field method and fuzzy controlling according to the control of swarm robots’ path planning.
